The UW-Platteville women's soccer team ran its winning streak to five games while beating UW-Superior 3-1 Saturday at Ralph E. Davis Pioneer Stadium.
The Pioneers improved to 5-1 overall and 1-0 in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, while the Yellowjackets fell to 4-1, 0-1.
Amber Piacentine, set up nicely by Paula Duerst, scored 6:55 into the game, while Allie Metcalfe and Kim Schneckloth added second-period goals for the Pioneers.
Since a 1-0 loss at St. John Fisher to open the season, the Pioneers had won the next four games by shutout. The Yellowjackets' Deanna Scheff broke the Pioneer shutout streak at 519 minutes when she bounced a ball off the left post with two minutes remaining in the game.
