512 see Titans topple Pioneers

It wasn't the record crowd UW-Platteville was seeking, but 512 fans enjoyed a fast-paced women's soccer game Friday at Ralph E. Davis Pioneer Stadium.

UW-Oshkosh broke a scoreless game just 2:22 into the second half and went on to beat the Pioneers 2-0 on UWP's Homecoming weekend.

Mandy Kajian scored on a scramble in front of the net after a corner kick for the first goal, and Michelle John added the insurance goal off a penalty kick at the 70:36 mark.

The Titans improved to 9-4-2 overall and 6-2 in the WIAC, while the Pioneers fell to 10-5-2, 1-4-2.

UWP is back on the field Sunday at 2 p.m. vs. Buena Vista in the first half of a doubleheader with the men's team.
