UW-Stout beat UW-Platteville 2-0 in the regular season finale Friday night in Menomonie, settling the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference playoff picture.
The eighth-seeded Pioneers open playoffs Tuesday at top-seeded UW-Eau Claire. UW-Platteville finished the regular season 12-6-2 overall and 1-5-2 in the league.
The Blue Devils' Carli Rindt scored 4:29 into the game, and Ali Sonsteby followed at the 34:19 mark. Sharon Hermes assisted on both goals.
The Pioneers had 10 shots on goal, but could not get past either of Stout's goalkeepers. Laurie Trifone had 11 saves for UWP.
