The UW-Platteville women's soccer displayed precision passing in defeating Ripon 5-1 Saturday, raising their unbeaten streak to 10.
The Pioneers controlled the action on the ProGrass surface at Ralph E. Davis Pioneer Stadium, out-shooting the visitors 26-4.
Allie Metcalfe scored a hat trick for the Pioneers before coming out of the game with 22 minutes left, while Ashly Hamilton and Kim Schneckloth added single goals. The Red Hawks' lone score came on Jill Jones's penalty kick with 1:00 remaining.
UWP improved to 8-1-2 on the year, while the Red Hawks fell to 2-6-1.
The Pioneers play host to rival UW-Whitewater Wednesday at 5 p.m. in a key Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference game. UWP is 1-0-2 in league play. The UWP men meet the Warhawks immediately following the women's game.
