Pioneers roll to win in Milwaukee

Four different Pioneers scored two goals, leading UW-Platteville to a 9-0 rout at Milwaukee School of Engineering Thursday night.

Amer Piacentine scored the first two goals of the game, giving UWP a 2-0 lead. Kim Schneckloth scored the last goal of the first half and the first of the second for a 4-0 cushion. The large lead gave Coach Chris Bianchi a chance to give his players extended minutes, and both Erin McDonald and Allie Metcalfe came off the bench to score a pair of goals apiece. Stephanie Lund also tallied a goal in the final minutes for the Pioneers, who improved to 2-1.

Dawn Kumlien was credited with two assists, while Paula Duerst, Vicki Hrbibar each had one for the Pioneers, who made the second successful trip to Milwaukee in as many nights. UWP shut out Wisconsin Lutheran Wednesday by a 2-0 score. The Pioneers have outscored three teams by an 11-1 score.

The Pioneer road show continues Sunday, when UWP plays in a men's and women's doubleheader at Benedictine College in Lisle, Ill. beginning at noon.
