Ashly Hamilton's overtime goal lifted UW-Platteville to a 3-2 victory over visiting Buena Vista Sunday afternoon.
Hamilton took a pass from Allie Metcalf and pulled up from 15 yards away, shooting from the right side. The low liner found the left corner of the net for the game-winner 7:25 into the extra session.
The Pioneers improved to 11-5-2, while the Beavers fell to 2-13-2.
Amber Piacantine and Metcalf scored first-half goals for the Pioneers, with Shannon Jacoby assisting the first and Hamilton the second. BV's Steph Johnson scored 1:01 before halftime, and then Michaela Monjaraz scored on a direct kick 15:16 in the second half,tying the score.
The Pioneers out-shot the visitors from Storm Lake, Iowa, 27-10, but BV goalkeeper made seven saves in the net. Laurie Trifone made four saves in the first half for UWP, while Hannah Krier played the second half and overtime, recording a save.
UWP returns to action Wednesday, playing host to Beloit at 7 p.m.
