UW-Platteville's Hope Huston added a spot on the D3kicks.com Team of the Week to her Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference soccer defensive player of the week award.

Huston, a freshman defender from Bettendorf, Iowa (Pleasant Valley High School) helped the Pioneers to a 0-0 tie at UW-La Crosse and a 1-1 standoff at UW-Stevens Point.

The Pioneers play host to Ripon Saturday at 7 p.m.

UW-Platteville's Hope Huston earned the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference soccer defensive player of the week award after the Pioneers' historic week.

Huston, a freshman defender from Bettendorf, Iowa (Pleasant Valley High School) helped the Pioneers break a collective 0-35 streak against UW-La Crosse and UW-Stevens Point.

She led the Pioneers to a 0-0 tie in La Crosse on September 20 and a 1-1 standoff in Stevens Point on September 23. It was the first non-losses against those teams in Pioneer history.

The Pioneers are off to the best start in their 15-year history at 6-1-2.
