Allie Metcalfe became the first UW-Platteville offensive player to earn the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference player of the week award since Kristin Haase in 1997 when the league honored her today.
Metcalfe, a freshman from Monona (Monona Grove High School) came off the bench to score five goals in two road matches during the week. She netted a pair of goals in a 9-0 win over Milwaukee School of Engineering on Sept. 7 and then recorded a hat trick in a 6-0 victory at Benedictine (Ill.) on Sept. 10.
Her three-goal game was the Pioneers' first since Rachel Melville turned the hat trick in 2001.
