In its first-ever Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference game, UW-Platteville tied host UW-Whitewater 1-1 Wednesday night.
By adding Finlandia (Mich.) for men's soccer only, the WIAC now recognizes a champion in the five-team league.
The Pioneers and Warhawks played 110 minutes of intensely-played soccer without deciding a winner.
B.J. Gottschlich scored in the 23rd minute for the Pioneers, but the Warhawks' Ryan Richgels tied the score with just under three minutes remaining.
UWP is now 5-4-2 overall, while the Warhawks are 4-3-3, 1-0-1.
UW-Whitewater donated a portion of the gate to the American Heart Association in honor of Pioneer Coach Enzo Fuschino, who suffered a heart attack Aug. 1.
Acting Head Coach Allison Sanyi has been directing both the men's and women's teams in 2009.
The Pioneers will make the northern conference trip this weekend, playing at UW-Superior Saturday and Finlandia Sunday.
