University of Wisconsin-Platteville junior B.J. Gottschlich helped his club team, the Milwaukee Kickers, win the United States Adult Soccer Association's (USASA) 2009 U20 National Tournament in Manalapan, N.J.
In pool play, the Kickers went 2-0-1 with seven points total to finish atop the Group "A" standings. Overall, the squad outscored its opponents 14-0 in five matches, including the semifinal round and the final.
Gottschlich scored two goals in pool play and made the assist on the game-winner in the Kickers' 1-0 final win over the Greek-American Cosmos on July 19 to claim the USASA Region I National Cup.
Gottschlich helped the Pioneers to a 14-5-1 record and their first-ever NCAA III tournament appearance in 2008. He assisted on the game’s only goal in the first-round victory over visiting Wartburg.
He is one of 20 returning lettermen for Coach Enzo Fuschino’s UW-Platteville team.
