Ben Terpening's header with 22 minutes beat former Pioneer goalkeeper Tony Sorenson for the only goal of the game, lifting UW-Platteville to a 1-0 victory at UW-Superior Saturday.
Terpening's sixth goal of the season came from Wade Torgenson and gave the Pioneers their fourth straight win. UWP improved to 6-2, while the Yellowjackets slipped to 3-4.
The Pioneers took 20 shots, but their former teammate made six saves. Kris Bosshart made two saves for the Pioneers and recorded his third shutout of the year while lowering his goals-against average to 1.03.
UW-Platteville returns to Ralph E. Davis Pioneer Stadium Tuesday vs. Coe on Youth Soccer Night. All youngsters wearing their jerseys will be admitted free to the doubleheader. The men will kick off 30 minutes following the women's 6 p.m. contest.
