UW-Platteville sponsored a Best-Dressed Contest at Tuesday's men's soccer game vs. Ripon. Unfortunately, the winner was Mother Nature.

Prolonged lightning forced the cancellation of the game, which was scheduled to start at 7 p.m. in Ralph E. Davis Pioneer Stadium. The teams made it through the warmups and were just about to begin starting lineups and the National Anthem when the lightning began. A mandatory 30-minute wait is required after the last lightning strike, and with no end to the lightning show after 70 minutes, the game was called. The contest will not be made up.
