UW-Platteville scored the first five goals and rolled to a 5-2 men's soccer victory over Millikin University Sunday in Decatur, Ill.

Brian Gottschlich scored two goals, and Ben Terpening recorded a goal and two assists for the Pioneers, who improved to 2-1.

Gottschlich, on an assist from Terpening, scored just 9:10 into the contest. Jason Vockrodt found the net midway through the first half, helping the Pioneers to a 2-0 halftime advantage.

Terpening, Gottschlich and Adam Batchelder made goals in the second half, with Dan Howard, Devin Wallace and Mario Millonzi assisting.

Kris Bosshart went the first 82:33 in the nets, allowing no goals. Twenty-three different players saw action for Coach Enzo Fuschino, who saw his team out-shoot the Big Blue 27-13.

The Pioneers play at Augustan (Ill.) Wednesday, then make their 2007 home debut Thursday vs. the University of Dubuque at 8 p.m. Both contests are doubleheaders with the women's teams.
