Undefeated Loras College remained that way with a 4-1 men's soccer victory over UW-Platteville Sunday in Dubuque.
The Duhawks won their ninth straight game while snapping the Pioneers' five-game win streak. Santiago Mejia and Matt Lamale scored in the first half for a 2-0 halftime lead. Tyler Hoyt headed in a free kick for a 3-0 lead, before the Pioneers scored. Ben Terpening scored on a penalty kick at 69:30 for his eighth goal of the year. Matt Splittgerber added the last goal on another header with just over six minutes remaining for the Duhawks (10-0-1).
The 7-3 Pioneers, who had 11 shots to 13 for Loras, play host to Ripon Tuesday at 7 p.m. in the Homecoming dress-up contest game. A large student crowd is expected at Ralph E. Davis Pioneer Stadium.
