Ignoring a stiff wind that blew through Ralph E. Davis Pioneer Stadium, the UW-Platteville men's soccer team scored two goals in each half to blank UW-Superior 4-0 Saturday.
The Pioneers improved to 5-0, while handing the Yellowjackets (4-1-1) their first loss.
With the wind at their backs in the first half, the Pioneers wasted no time grabbing a lead. Patrick Little scored just 51 seconds into the game, scoring off of Eric Sautbine's rebound shot. Twenty-five minutes later, Ben Terpening scored high in the left corner of the net after taking a pass from Devin Wallace.
into the wind in the second half, the Pioneers put the game out of reach early. Jason Vockrodt scored on a point-blank shot, assisted by Sautbine. After assisting on two goals, Sautbine then scored one himself, somehow scoring on a header from a Ben Terpening indirect kick. Sautbine wrapped the ball just inside the right post, finishing the scoring.
