UW-Oshkosh edged UW-Platteville 2-1 in the Pioneers' final game of the season Sunday night in Oshkosh.
The Titans' Paul Beach and Ryan Compty scored in the first half for a 2-0 lead. The Pioneers sliced the margin in half when Bryan Mark scored, assisted by Ben Terpening. UWP could not get the tying goal in the net in an evenly-played game. Both teams had nine total shots.
The Titans improved to 8-6-3 and retained the Eberlein Cup, named for former Pioneer Coach Fred Eberlein, who retired after the 1997 season. UW-Platteville has yet to win the cup, as the Titans have won 18 straight games in the series.
The Pioneers finish their season with a 14-5 mark, tying the school record for wins in a season.
