
UW-Platteville beat Mount Mercy 3-2 on a snowy Homecoming field Saturday night in Ralph E. Davis Pioneer Stadium.
The rain that fell all day turned to snow just in time for the 7 p.m. start, and the game ended with a white layer across the ProGrass surface.
The Pioneers took a 3-0 lead on first-half goals by Eric Christenson and Travis Pennings and a sevend-half goal by Ben Terpening.
The Mustangs made things close in the second half when Zlatic Tomic scored within 3:30, with the first coming at 74:33. The Pioneer starters then re-entered the game and turned up the offensive attacks again for the rest of the game.
UWP improved to 13-3 overall, while Mount Mercy fell to 6-7-1. The Pioneers play at home again Sunday vs. Buena Vista at 4 p.m.
