UW-Platteville's Ben Terpening has been named to the inaugural D3kicks.com Team of the Week for his performance in leading the Pioneers to the championship of the Flower City Classic in Rochester, N.Y.

The sophomore from Waunakee earned tournament MVP honors as he scored in both Pioneer wins, a 5-4 overtime victory against St. John Fisher and a 2-1 championship victory over the University of Rochester, ranked seventh in the D3kicks.com preseason poll.

Terpening made the game-tying goal with 18 seconds remaining against Fisher, sending the contest to overtime. He then made the game-winner Sunday vs. Rochester with 3:09 to play.

The 2-0 Pioneers play at Benedictine University Sunday in Chicago. After road games at Dubuque (Sept. 12th at 8 p.m.) and Clarke (Sept. 14th at 5 p.m.), the Pioneers make their home debut Saturday, Sept. 16 vs. UW-Superior at 2 p.m.
