Pioneers fall to North Park

UW-Platteville scored first before North Park rallied for its seventh straight men's soccer victory Sunday by a 3-1 count.

The Windy City lived up to its nickname, as the game was played in cold, wet and windy conditions. Alex Albright cut through the cold air to score 11:04 into the game.

The Vikings tied the score four minutes later on Kyle Fisher's goal, then took the lead at the 25;47 mark on a score by Elvis Fikic. Nick Bruckner added an insurance goal at 70:47.

The Pioneers fell to 9-6-4, while the Vikings improved to 11-3.

UWP closes its season Friday vs. rival UW-Oshkosh at Ralph E. Davis Pioneer Stadium. The winner is awarded the Eberlein Cup, named after former Pioneer Coach Fred Eberlein, who retired in 1997 after 25 years and 207 victories.
