Mount Mercy took a 1-0 lead, but only for a minute, as UW-Platteville stormed back for a 3-1 men's soccer victory Monday in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
The Mustangs scored in the 31st minute, but the Pioneers' Alex Albright answered to tie the score. Ben Terpening scored the go-ahead goal with eight minutes to play, and then Eric Christensen added an insurance point in the final two minutes for the undefeated Pioneers.
UWP improved to 2-0-1, while Mount Mercy fell to 1-1. The Pioneers play host to Clarke Thursday at 7 p.m., following the women's game vs. the Crusaders.
