Freshman Alex Albright continued his hot weekend, scoring both goals as UW-Platteville beat host Marian College 2-1 Sunday night in Fond du Lac.
Fellow freshman Ben Terpening celebrated his birthday Sunday, but instead of receiving gifts, he delivered them. He made two crisp passes to Albright that led to the second-period goals. Albright scored twice in Saturday's 4-1 win at UW-Superior.
The weekend victories lifted the Pioneers' record to 6-1-1 overall. It was the first time since 1989 that UWP beat Marian, who as recently as 2002 made the NCAA III national playoffs.
UW-Platteville is home twice this week, playing Cornell Tuesday at 7 p.m. and Wisconsin Lutheran Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.
