Sophomore Caitlin Cook broke 80 for the first time collegiately, and senior Michelle Ebert turned in UW-Platteville's best two-day total in leading the Pioneers at the UW-Eau Claire Invitational Saturday and Sunday.
UWP finished 16th out of 25 teams at the Mill Run Golf Course. Gustavus Adolphus was the team champion.
Ebert led the Pioneers with a 169 36-hole total, tying her for 22nd place. Cook hit a sizzling 79 on the first day and finished 26th overall at 171. Almost every team scores increased by 30 strokes from Saturday to Sunday because of the windy conditions.
Kerrie Liske and Tricia Pawelski each shot a 191 for the Pioneers, who play host to the UW-Platteville Invitational Saturday and Sunday.
Check back on the web site later in the week to hear from Ebert and Coach Peter Reif about the first-ever home regular season invitational.
