The UW-Platteville women's golf team continued its season of improvement, finishing almost 100 strokes better than last year at the UW-Whitewater Invitational.
A year after having only one golfer break 100 on the Janesville course, four of the five Pioneers did so over the weekend. UWP shot 736 to place 10th of 14 teams. Last year, the Pioneers shot 829 to finish 17th.
Michelle Ebert shot 171, with rounds of 87 and 84, to finish 17th overall. Caitlin Cook had an 87 Sunday and finished with 182 and 40th place. Julie Chapman was 46th with 186, Penny Case 60th with 197 and Tricia Pawelski 63rd with 204.
The Pioneers golf in the UW-Stevens Point Invitational next weekend for their last tuneup before the Oct. 6-7 Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference championships.
