The UW-Platteville football seniors spent Wednesday morning not on the practice field but out in the community doing service projects.
"Part of our leadership with our seniors is being servant leaders, so it is very important that, although we are in the middle of camp, that we realize football is not the most important thing in our lives," Pioneer Coach Mike Emendorfer said. "We find different projects and different people to help. Obviously we have the muscle to supply that. Part of the team did things with the Children's Center, some mowed the lawn for our (hospitalized) soccer coach, and some helped other people in the community by picking up sticks after the large storms we had this summer. It's important for our young leaders to realize what it is to be a servant leader."
