For the second time this season, UW-Platteville kicker Tony Smidl earned Special Teams Player of the Week honors from the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.
Smidl, a senior from Oshkosh West, tied a UW-Platteville single-game record by making all four of his field goals, including a career-best 44-yarder, at UW-Eau Claire on Oct. 17. He connected on kicks of 23, 32, 36 and 44 yards, keeping him a perfect 10-10 this season. Smidl tied the UW-Platteville career record with 28 made field goals as well.
The Pioneers play host to UW-Oshkosh Saturday at 2 p.m.
