Tom Bruins ranks 2nd in WIAC in tackles.

UW-Platteville's Tom Bruins earned a spot on the D3football.com Team of the Week for his performance against UW-La Crosse Oct. 10.

Bruins, a senior linebacker from Waupun, led UW-Platteville's 26-13 upset of 16th-ranked UW-La Crosse by making 12 tackles (9 solos), including 2.5 for losses. He also forced two fumbles and recovered another. His recovery came at the Eagle 28, leading to a field goal and a 10-0 lead. One of his forced fumbles was returned by a teammate 55 yards to the Eagles' 20 to set up a touchdown and a 24-7 halftime lead.

The Pioneer defense held the Eagles to 285 yards and 13 points; UW-L came into the game averaging 444.2 and 39.2.

Bruins was also the WIAC Defensive Player of the Week.
