Ryan Graboski's 32-yard field goal with 2:29 to play lifted UW-Stevens Point to a 3-0 victory over visiting UW-Platteville Saturday.

The game-winner came after the Pointers drove 38 yards in nine plays after a Bryan Blum interception on a reverse pass by Nick Grosso. The Pioneers' Dan Moore picked off a pass at the UWP 34, and on the next play, Grosso's deep ball to Aunton Terry was stolen by Blum. Pointer QB Jared Beckwith completed four passes for 39 yards on the game-winning drive. After the Pioneers received the kickoff, the Pointers' Matt Lunder made two straight sacks on Mitch Shadley, and Terry was stopped shy of the first down marker on fourth.

Both teams, who lost shootouts the previous week, combined for 489 yards, with the Pointers gaining 305.

Quincy Hudson picked off a pair of passes, including one in the end zone, and David Akey blocked a field goal to help keep the game scoreless. Matt Janus made a career-best 17 tackles, while Tim Stephenson made three for losses. Mike Genslinger rushed for 57 yards, and Terry caught eight passes for 96 yards, including a 43-yarder that brought the ball to the UWSP 31 in the first quarter. The Pioneers then were stopped on downs on the closest penetration of the day.

Mike Ferron ran for 58 yards, while Beckwith threw for 192 for the Pointers.

UW-Stevens Point improved to 4-1 overall and 1-1 in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. The Pioneers, who fell to 2-3, 0-2 and play against UW-La Crosse next Saturday at 1 p.m. on Winona State's Maxwell Field.
