UW-Platteville Student Appreciation Day is Saturday, Sept. 8 at Ralph E. Davis Pioneer Stadium.

The Pioneer football team, with 27 seniors and 17 returning starters, faces a St. Ambrose team coming off a 10-season. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. and all students in attendance have a chance to win valuable prizes.

UW-Platteville is giving away two $250 spring semester scholarships, seven $100 housing plans and seven $100 dining dollar certificates. The drawings will take place after the game. In addition, the first 1,000 students will receive thunderstick to make some noise and help cheer on the Pioneers in the season opener.
