UW-Oshkosh's Andy Moriarity rushed for 314 yards and three touchdowns, leading the Titans past a short-handed UW-Platteville 35-20 Saturday at Ralph E. Davis Pioneer Stadium.

Moriarity came within two yards of his own school record, set in 2005 against UW-Eau Claire. The senior has gained 602 yards in the last two weeks.

The Pioneers were without their leading rusher Mike Genslinger (919 yards) and started their fourth quarterback of the year, sophomore Terry Belville, due to injuries.

A bit of trickery helped the Pioneers take an early 3-0 lead, as Belville's first collegiate pass went for 48 yards to Dan Schwartz off a flea-ficker. Tony Smidl's 20-yard field goal gave the Pioneers a 3-0 lead.

Kyle Nakatsuji caught a 16-yard touchdown pass from Joe Patek, and Nate Heard returned an interception 72 yards for another score, giving the Titans a 14-3 lead. Josh Wara intecepted a deep Belville pass, but Schwartz stripped the ball from him, and the Pioneers' Nick Grosso recovered at the Titan one. Tyson Droessler scored from a yard out, narrowing the gap to 14-10. On the Titans' next play, Moriarity broke through the line and went 59 yards for another score, making the count 21-10.

Smidl's 24-yard field goal was the lone score of the third quarter, set up by Grosso's blocked punt. Early in the fourth, the Titans' Bryan Kent returned an interception 30 yards to the Pioneer 15, and Moriarity finished the drive with a 10-yard scoring run.

UW-Platteville cut the deficit to one score with 8:02 to play, when Belville hit Craig Patterson with a seven-yard fade pattern in the left corner of the end zone. Smidl's extra-point made it 28-20.

The Titans drove 79 yards, with Moriarty scoring from five yards out, for the clinching score with 2:34 remaining.

The Titans improved to 6-3 overall, 3-3 in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, while the Pioneers are 2-7, 1-5.

Freshman Joe Burkeland came off the bench to rush for 88 yards at the quarterback spot, while David Pietrowiak paced the defense with eight solo stops. Justin Athey registered two quarterback sacks.

James Taraboi had 10 tackles for UW-Oshkosh, including three for losses. The Titans out-gained the Pioneers 420-242.

UW-Platteville saluted 23 seniors appearing in their final home game. They were Justin Athey, Jerad Baganz, Chris Booze, Eugene Bradford, David Busch, Tom Christiansen, Marcis Davidson, Corey Darmody, Matt Eastlick, Chris Genslinger, Joe Kinsella, Rusty Kordick, Nolan Krajco, Kai Lahti, Craig Patterson, David Pietrowiak, Kyle Pohlkamp, Michael Schmidt, Bryon Schneider, Dan Schwartz, Scott Schwartz, Tim Sommers, and Justin Thompson.
