UW-Platteville's Jason Garvens earned the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference cross country runner of the week award.
Running cross country for the first time in two years, Garvens won the individual title and led UW-Platteville to the team championship at the UW-Whitewater Warhawk Invitational on Sept. 19. Garvens, who missed 2008 because of injuries, completed the 8,000-meter course in 26:32, winning by five seconds. The Pioneers won the nine-school meet.
