UW-Platteville swept the NCAA Division III Midwest Region Awards, as both Tyler Sigl and Marcia Taddy earned the Athlete of the Year Awards.
Both won the individual regional races last Saturday in Davenport, Iowa, making UW-Platteville the only school in the country with two regional champions. They will receive their awards Friday night at the national championship banquet in West Chester, Ohio.
Sigl and Taddy will lead the Pioneers into Saturday's national championships, hosted by Wilmington College. Taddy will run for the individual title, while Sigl will be joined by his teammates, who finished third in the regionals. Competing at nationals are Erik Bartelson, Nick Fulton, Russ Goessl, Cam Klein, Kyle Stangel and Aaron Whalen, with John Lueck going as the alternate.
