The men's cross country team is ninth in the U.S .Track&Field and Cross Country Coaches Association poll, while the women are 28th. Both Pioneer teams compete in the WIAC championships Saturday at the Maple Grove Country Club in West Salem.
Four WIAC men's teams are in the top 18, while three women's teams are nationally ranked.
On the men's side, UW-La Crosse is second, UW-Oshkosh sixth, UWP ninth, and UW-Stevens Point 18th. For the women, UW-La Crosse is fifth, UW-Eau Claire 19th and UWP 28th. UW-Oshkosh also received votes.
