2009 Football Cheerleaders

The 2009 Football Cheerleading Team was chosen on August 31st. This year's team is not only the largest the Pioneers have had, but is perhaps the most talented as well. As the team continues to grow in numbers, they also soar in talent.
The cheerleaders support a wide range of sports at UW-Platteville. The team is made up of full-time students, (12 or more credits) in good standing in the university. This year, under the direction of Advisor Heather Townsend and Coach Patti Mitch, there will be separate squads for the football and basketball seasons..
Throughout the year members of the Squad cheer for home football and basketball games as well as some away games. They also participate in Alumni functions, Pep Rallies and Homecoming events, including the homecoming parade and the annual Homecoming Yell Volleyball game. The squads also participate in community service activities such as the Project Holiday Auction, Relay for Life, fund raising for the squad through the 50/50 raffle and other events, and are active members of PSSAC and the O Zone.
