The cheerleaders support a wide range of sports at UW-Platteville. The team is made up of full-time students, (12 or more credits) in good standing in the university. This year, under the direction of Coach Heather Townsend and Assistant Coach Patti Mitch, the squad will have separate squads for the football and basketball seasons..
Throughout the fall, members of the Squad cheer for home football games as well as some away games. They also participate in Alumni functions, Pep Rallies and Homecoming events, including the homecoming parade and the Yell Like Hell Volleyball game. The squads also participate in community service activities such as the Project Holiday Auction, fund raising for the squad through the 50/50 raffle and other events, and are active members of PSSAC and the O Zone.
Tryouts for the Fall Squad took place at the beginning of the 2007 Fall Semester, and try-outs for the basketball season will be held November 7th.
During the winter season, the squad will cheer for Men's and Women's home Basketball games. Due to the schedule, they will not be cheering at any regular season away games, but will cheer at any play-off games.
