UW-Platteville center Shannon Boatman earned the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Athlete of the Week Award for her play in the Pioneers' first three games.

Boatman averaged 14.0 points, 9.0 rebounds and 4.0 steals while leading the Pioneers to a 2-1 record. She made 14-of-23 shots from the field (60.9 percent) and 14-of-17 from the line (82.4 percent).

In addition, the Pioneers' lone senior grabbed 16 offensive rebounds, blocked three shots and committed just one turnover in 84 minutes of play. Boatman had 11 points and 10 rebounds while leading the Pioneers to a 70-45 win over previously undefeated Loras Saturday night.

The Darlington native will lead the Pioneers into Wednesday's conference opener at UW-Stevens Point, an NCAA III Final Four team last year. The Pioneers play at home Saturday, Dec. 4 against UW-Superior. The UWP men face the Yellowjackets at 1 p.m., and the women play at 3:30 p.m. One ticket is good for both Saturday contests.
