The UW-Platteville Pioneers traveled to UW-Whitewater Wednesday night. UW-Whitewater, ranked #3 on D3hoops.com, beat the Pioneers 94-64.

Angie Vamstad scored the first basket of the game, putting the Pioneers up by two for there only lead of the game. The Warhawks led by as much as 26 in the first half.

The half time score was Pioneers 18 and Warhawks 41.

The Pioneers came as close as 19 in the second half off a layup by Ashley Callahan putting the score at 45-26, but the Warhawks went on to win 94-64.

Lisa Wubben scored 17 of her 21 points in the second half to lead the Pioneers. Wubben also had eight assists, seven rebounds, and three steals.

Vamstad added 12 points and Lisa Grantman had 11 for the Pioneers. UW-Platteville fell to 10-12 overall and 4-9 in the WIAC.

Kelsey Hendrickson led the game with 24 points. Tiffany Morton added 16, Meghan Schmidt had 15, and Heidi Sonntag chipped in 11 points for the Warhawks, who improved to 21-1 overall and 12-1 in the WIAC.

UW-Platteville makes the trip to UW-Superior Saturday for a 1 p.m. tip-off.
