Visiting UW-Platteville fell to UW-Oshkosh Wednesday night for a 71-62 final score.

It was a close match between the Pioneers and Titans. Vanessa Nemitz hit a three about six minutes into the game putting the Pioneers up by one, 12-11. This would be the only lead the Pioneers would take in the game.

Laura Ebbens put the Titans up by 14 with about 6:30 to go. Ashley Callahan made a free-throw and brought the Pioneers back within three with 3:50 to go in the first half. The Pioneers would go in to halftime down by nine, 43-34.

The Pioneers would come as close as four in the second half, but it wasn't enough as the Titans pulled away for the 71-62 victory.

Lisa Wubben led the Pioneers with a double-double, 21 points and 11 rebounds. Callahan finished with 13 points for the night.

The Titans had four in double digits: Whitney Tyriver finished with 21, Michelle Boeder scored 13, Erin Baganz and Tiffany Pugh each had 10 points.

UW-Platteville is now 9-10 overall and 3-7 in the WIAC. UW-Oshkosh improves to 9-10 overall and 4-6 in the WIAC.

The Pioneers hit the road again Saturday, February 2, at UW-River Falls at 1 p.m.
