The Augustana women's basketball team entered through the front doors of Williams Fieldhouse for Wednesday's game, but once inside, the Vikings were repeatedly shown the back door by UW-Platteville.

The Pioneers' spread their offense and used precision cuts and passing to record a 79-48 non-conference victory, their fourth in a row. UWP had 21 assists on their first 26 baskets as they cruised to the win. The Pioneers led 49-22 at the half and led by as many as 30 for the last 12 minutes of the game.

"We always want to spread our offense, but tonight, we really seemed to spread it and get our flex cuts going," said junior forward Lisa Wubben. "I think most of our points came inside, and that's a big thing for us. We're not trying to create shots for ourselves. We're working together as a team and making that one extra pass."

Wubben followed up the school's first-ever triple double Saturday with 17 points and 12 rebounds. Vanessa Nemitz and Dru Schneider each had 13 points, and Lisa Grantman had 10.

Cindy Kastning was the only Viking in double figures, as she scored 10 points. The Vikings (2-9) were held to 30 percent shooting and turned the ball over 26 times.

"We played with intensity," Wubben said. "We came in not thinking this would be an easy win for us. All of us came to ready to play, and everybody gave it their all. No one person slacked off, and we didn't let up for a possession. We kept going the entire time."

In the past two games, the red-hot Wubben has 40 points, 24 rebounds and 16 assists.

"Individually, I really don't think what's best for myself, but for the team," she said. "My first instinct isn't to shoot, although I know that's what coach wants me to do. My first instinct is to look for the open pass and my second is to shoot. I don't think my mentality has changed, but I think I'm seeing the court more. If I set up other players, defenses will sag off me and give me more options."

The Pioneers return to action Saturday at UW-Stout at 3 p.m. and then return to Williams Fieldhouse Wednesday to face UW-Oshkosh at 7 p.m.
