Vanessa Nemitz scored 20 vs. the Spartans

UW-Platteville's Vanessa Nemitz, a sophomore guard from Bloomington (River Ridge High School), earned the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Player of the Week award.

Nemitz scored a career-high 20 points, leading UW-Platteville to a 65-49 win over the University of Dubuque Dec. 13 and avenging a loss to the Spartans from the previous year. Nemitz made 7-12 from the field, including 4-9 from three-point range, and 2-2 from the line. She also had five rebounds, a block and a steal in 28 minutes.

The Pioneers have won four of their last five games, improving to 6-4 overall. UWP plays at Edgewood Dec. 29 at 2 p.m. and then has a re-scheduled game against Augustana on Jan. 2 at 7 p.m. on Bo Ryan Court.
