Pioneers lead USA to 3-0 start

Three UW-Platteville women's basketball players have led Team USA to a 3-0 mark in the London Open.

The U.S. team defeated the Solten Stars of Southampton 72-67, Hackney White Heat 86-68, and Paws London Capitals 48-45.

Pioneer players Lisa Grantman and Holly Kaiser led the U.S. in the opener with 15 and 14 points, respectively. Liz Tesch also played significant minutes for the USA, made up of Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference players and coached by UW-La Crosse's Lois Heeren.

Grantman totalled 12 points in the Hackney victory, second only to UW-Stout's Lindsey Geissler, who scored 31. Geissler also made her free throws in the waning seconds to secure the win over the Capitals.
