UW-Platteville's Holly Kaiser was one of five players to earn ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District Five basketball first team honors.
The district comprises all non-NCAA Division I schools from Wisconsin, Minnesota, Illinois and Indiana.
Kaiser, who was a second team selection last year, is now eligible for Academic All-America considerations. The first team honorees from each of the eight districts are considered for those awards.
The senior forward from Hazel Green (Southwestern High School) leads the Pioneers in scoring at 13.7 points per game as well as being the team leader in steals and assists. An all-conference performer last year, Kaiser needs 45 more points to break into the Pioneer top-10 category for career scoring.
She is a biology major with a pre-physical therapy emphasis who also minors in French. Kaiser has a 3.94 cumulative grade-point average in her four years. She is a member of the Dean's List as well as several honor societies.
Sports information directors from each district vote on these prestigious awards.
