Undefeated UW-Platteville remained third in the D3hoops.com men's basketball poll but did pick up another first-place vote.
The 9-0 Pioneers were selected the top team by two voters, while undefeated defending national champion Wash. U. grabbed the other 23 and the first-place ranking. Wheaton (Ill.) is second ahead of the Pioneers. St. Thomas (Minn.) is fourth, while fellow WIAC schools UW-Stevens Point and UW-Whitewater are fifth and sixth, respectively. The West and Midwest Regions account for nine of the top 10 places.
The Pioneers will be challenged Saturday when the University of Dubuque comes to Bo Ryan Court for a 1 p.m. game. The Spartans are 7-2 heading into Wednesday's intracity clash with Clarke.
The D3hoops.com Top 25 is voted on by a panel of 25 coaches, Sports Information Directors and media members from across the country, and is published weekly. The full poll, through games of Sunday, Dec. 14, 2008:
