Pioneer basketball January 20, 2009

The UW-Platteville's men's basketball team, which moved up one spot to fifth in the D3hoops.com national poll, plays to host seventh-ranked UW-Whitewater Wednesday at 7 p.m. on Bo Ryan Court.

Both rivals enter the games with 14-2 records, including 6-1 in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. (Both teams' lone league loss came to fourth-ranked UW-Stevens Point in overtime.)

The Pioneers bring in the WIAC's top defensive club, allowing 61.4 points per game. The Warhawks are the top offense, averaging 82.3 ppg and reaching at least 90 points in each of their last four games.

UW-Platteville has made this game its Orange Out Night, and encourages all fans to wear their orange to this highly-anticipated contest.
