| Skemp is 4th in the nation in shooting |
UW-Platteville's Jeff Skemp earned his second D3hoops.com Team of the Week honors after his performances in a pair of Pioneer victories.
Skemp totaled 29 points and 16 rebounds in a 78-77 double-overtime victory at UW-La Crosse Feb. 6. He made the tying basket with four seconds left in regulation. Skemp went 11-of-12 from the free throw line in the win. In an 80-56 victory over Robert Morris-Springfield on Saturday, Feb. 9, he was 5-of-5 from the field and 2-of-2 from the line.
The 6-10 junior center from Hazel Green, who played in his 2,000th career minute Wednesday vs. UW-Whitewater, is ranked fourth nationally in field goal percentage, making 64.7 percent of his shots this season.
The Pioneers, 17-5 overall, play at UW-Superior Saturday at 3 p.m. then finish the regular season with home games against UW-Eau Claire Feb. 20 at 7 p.m. and UW-Stevens Point Feb. 23 at 5 p.m.
UW-Platteville, 10-3 in league play, will host a first-round Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference playoff game on Monday, Feb. 25 at 7 p.m. against an opponent to be determined.
