Jeff Skemp scores against Clarke

UW-Platteville's Jeff Skemp, who shot 88 percent from the field during two games, earned the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference player of the week award.

The 6-10 junior center from Hazel Green (Southwestern High School) made 15-17 from the field in leading the Pioneers to an 82-50 at the University of Dubuque and a 65-50 win over Clarke College. He was 8-9 against the Spartans and 7-8 vs. the Crusaders. Skemp totaled 33 points, 11 rebounds, six assists and five blocked shots in 50 minutes played, helping the Pioneers improve to 7-2.

UW-Platteville next plays two games in San Diego, facing Point Loma Nazarene, ranked 10th in the NAIA poll, Dec. 29 and George Fox Dec. 31.
