UW-Platteville's Jeff Skemp earned two more preseason all-American honors. Basketball Times named the Pioneer center a top 25 all-American, while D3hoops.com tabbed him as an honorable mention selection.

Skemp, a 6-10 junior from Hazel Green (Southwestern High School) was averaging a team-best 12.5 points and 7.0 rebounds before suffering a season-ending injury after eight games. He had started all 59 games of his collegiate career prior to that point. Last month, the Sporting News named Skemp an all-American.

The Pioneers open the 2007-08 season with the Pioneer Ford/Tricor Insurance Tip-Off Classic Nov. 16-17 on Bo Ryan Court in Williams Fieldhouse. Former Pioneer Coach Todd Adrian brings his Edgewood team to face Maryville (Mo.) at 5 p.m. on Friday, and the Pioneers play Beloit at 7 p.m. On Saturday, the opponents flip, with Edgewood playing Beloit at 5 p.m. and UWP facing Maryville at 7 p.m.
