Kyle Brudos delivers against Edgewood

Edgewood College rallied from a 4-1 deficit to beat UW-Platteville 10-4 Wednesday at Kendall Murray Field.

The Eagles scored seven unearned runs in the fifth, stringing together four hits, two walks and two Pioneer errors. Steven Binder delivered the most damaging blow, a two-run double that made the lead 7-4. Edgewood added two more unearned runs in the eighth.

The Eagles improved to 14-10, while the Pioneers, who committed six errors, fell to 11-12.

Jerod Haxton and Gabe Neitzel each had two hits for the Pioneers. Justin Dahmen led Edgewood with four hits, while Binder had two doubles and drove in three.

Five different pitchers threw for the Pioneers, with Kyle Brudos and Joe Cox each pitching two to start the game, and Wil Osmanski was tagged for the loss in the fifth. Joe Lange struck out four in 3 1/3 innings, and Aaron Daniels pitched a scoreless ninth.

Matt Krueger went the distance for Edgewood, yielding nine hits and stranding 10 Pioneers on base.

The Pioneers return to Kendall Murray Field Thursday, facing Rockford in a nine-inning game at 3 p.m.
