Huntingdon bests Pioneers

Huntingdon gained a split with UW-Platteville by beating the visiting Pioneers 8-5 Thursday in Montgomery, Ala.

A two-out RBI single by Garrett Sweat gave the Hawks the lead for good in the bottom of the third.

The Pioneers scored four in the second inning, with Nick Aplin's two-run double the big blow.

UWP fell to 2-5, while Huntingdon improved to 12-7.

The Pioneers conclude their trip this weekend in Crawfordsville, Ind. vs. Tri-State and host Wabash Saturday and vs. Wabash Sunday.
