UW-Platteville's track and field teams competed in the UW-Stevens Point triangular Saturday with UW-Eau Claire.

The UW-Platteville women's track and field team came in second at the triangular with 108 points behind Eau Claire with 125.

Ann Tank pulled away in the one mile run finishing first with a time of 5:12.85. Jessica Scott also came in first in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:16.76.

Shea Bierman finished second in the women's 400 meter dash with a time of 1:03.09 while teammate Sara Novotny was close behind for a third place finish with a time of 1:03.42.

In the 55 meter hurdles, Gabrielle Ethier had a time of 9.03 for second place .

The women's 4X200 meter relay finished first with a time of 1:49.00 and the 4X400 meter relay also finished first with a time of 4:07.91.

Three Pioneers took over in the shot put taking the top three spots. Rachel Oppriecht threw 36 feet and 9.25 inches for first place, Brittany Bark threw 36 feet and 7.75 inches for second, and Ann Lazara threw 33 feet and a half an inch for third place.

The Pioneer men finished third in the triangular with 79 points.

Lynn Oyawiri ran 6.53 in the 55 meter dash for second place. Mitch Spees also ran for a second place finish in the 200 meter dash with a time of 23.32. Shane Lacy finished second in the mile run with a time of 4:24.88.

In the pole vault, the Pioneers finished with the top two spots. Jon Balciar finished first with a vault of 14 feet and 10.2 inches and Tony Fontanini tied for second with a 14 feet and 4.5 inches vault.

Corey Digman threw for two second place finishes in the shot put and weight throw. For the shot put, Digman threw 50 feet and .75 inches and the weight throw, 54 feet and 11.7 inches.

The Pioneers travel to the University of Dubuque this Saturday, January 31, to compete in their next indoor meeting.
