Two UW-Platteville pole vaulters and the women's 4x400 relay team reached NCAA III provisional marks at the Loras Open Saturday.
Both Jon Balciar and Scott Howard made the provo marks in pole vaulting, tying for second at 15-5, while Alison Glendenning, Liz Scott, Ann Tank, and Jessica Scott won the 4x400 in 3:54.31.
Lynn Oyawiri also won the 100-meter dash in 11.08 despite the wet conditions in Dubuque.
"It really wasn't too bad," Pioneer Coach Jim Nickasch said. "We had low 50s, very little wind and just one delay early on. It wasn't a bad tuneup for the conference meet. We told the kids it could be like this next weekend, too, so just buckle up and go."
The Pioneers compete at the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference championships Friday and Saturday at UW-Oshkosh.
WIAC schools such as UW-Oshkosh, UW-Whitewater and UW-Eau Claire joined the Pioneers in the large meet in Dubuque. No team scores were kept.
Glendenning finished second in the women's 100 meters at 13.12, while teammate Cassie Schneider was third at 13.17 and third in the long jump at 16-0.25.
On the men's side, Mitch Spees was second in the 200 at 22.66, and the 4x100 team was second in 42.59, and the 4x400 third in 3:27.43.
