UW-Platteville's Nathan Petesch and Jason Garvens each reached NCAA III provisional qualifying marks at North Central's Gregory Invitational Thursday in Naperville, Ill.
Petesch was seventh in the 5,000-meter run in 14:42.17, lowering his season-best by 17 seconds. Garvens was right behind at 14:42.38. dropping his previous best by 10 seconds.
Over in La Crosse, the women's 4x400 team dropped its provo time to 3:50.88 by placing second. That ranks UWP as the fourth fastest time in the country this season, depending on what else occurs this weekend. Liz Baker, Alison (Ross) Glendenning, Ann Tank and Jess Scott comprise that quartet.
The Pioneer field competitors will be at Augustana Friday.
